Why Your Support Matters:

  • Saving Your Money: Communities with well-funded, well-equipped fire departments often benefit from better ISO ratings, which can lead to significantly lower home insurance premiums for residents. Nationally, volunteer fire services save taxpayers an estimated $139.8 billion annually in firefighting costs.

  • Faster Response Times: Direct funding allows departments to maintain modern apparatus and state-of-the-art tools like thermal imaging cameras and hydraulic rescue tools (Jaws of Life), ensuring they can respond more effectively when every second counts.

  • Critical Life-Saving Gear: A single set of protective gear (helmet, boots, and fire-resistant clothing) can cost a volunteer roughly $3,000. Donations ensure these volunteers, who already sacrifice their time for free, aren't also forced to pay out-of-pocket for their own safety.

  • Tax Benefits: Most volunteer fire departments are 501(c)(3) or qualifying 501(c)(4) nonprofits, making your monetary contributions tax-deductible.

    How Donations Are Used:

Your contributions typically fund these vital areas:

  1. Training: Covering the high costs of certifications for firefighting, EMS, and hazardous materials response.

  2. Apparatus Maintenance: Keeping fire trucks and rescue vehicles in peak operational condition.

  3. Community Programs: Funding free fire safety education, smoke alarm installations, and CPR training for the public.

  4. Station Upgrades: Maintaining the facilities where firefighters train and wait for calls.

Big ideas, real impact.
